After pursuing a life-long interest in skin care, Laura L. Root
received her esthetics license in May 1994. Since that time, she has
continued to pursue excellence in education in both the United States
and Canada, and has extended her areas of practice to include medical
esthetics, micropigmentation and day spa techniques. Licensed in both
Arizona and Oregon, she has also worked with physicians to develop and
implement protocols for pre- and post-surgical skin care treatments to
improve outcomes for their esthetic surgery patients. Ms. Root began
working with microdermabrasion technology shortly after it was
introduced to estheticians in 1997 and also holds the prestigious
International CIDESCO diploma, which represents the highest
achievement in the esthetic industry. She is currently enrolled in
study for a degree in Holistic Nutrition.
Laura's article "Microdermabrasion" was published in Les
Nouvelles Esthetiques' April and May 1999 issues and represented a
comprehensive overview of a subject that had not been addressed
prior to that time. Several related articles have been slated for
publication in other magazines.
Laura was Editor of the quarterly
newsletter for the American Society of Esthetic Medicine (ASEM) in 1998-1999. She
has been listed in the Millenium Edition of the Marquis' Who's Who of the
West.
Laura holds a private pilot license with instrument rating since
1988, and enjoys riding motorcycles, target shooting and gardening. In
1993, she traveled to Russia with a group of dancers from Oregon and
spent time with the ballet masters of both the Bolshoi and Kazan
ballet schools. Her off-duty hours are occupied by her family: husband
Tom, daughters Ginnie and Sara, and son, Robbie, four Abyssinian cats
and one Golden Destroyer.
